A form of residence permit granted by the Slovak Republic, which entitles a citizen of a third country to stay on the territory of the Slovak Republic. Intended for the purpose of employment. During the validity period of the granted national visa, the citizen of a third country must not be employed by an employer other than the one for which the national visa was granted.
We recommend using this immigration process if the company needs to employ a citizen of a third country in the shortest possible time. A national visa can be granted for the duration of employment, a maximum period of 1 year, it is not possible to grant it again, except for those relocated, but it is possible to switch to temporary residence for the purpose of employment. The visa is issued in the form of a sticker with specific details of the employer.
The diplomatic mission shall decide about an application for the granting of national visa within 30 days from its receipt.
The Administrative Procedure does not apply to the procedure for granting a national visa.
After finding a job within 90 days, a citizen of a third country can change his national visa while waiting for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, where the specific information of the employer will be added to the visa sticker.
A family member of a relocated employee can study or be employed during the validity of the granted national visa. Visas can be renewed.
The deadline for a decision on a Schengen visa application is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of the application. In exceptional cases, if additional documents are required or further review of the application is required, the deadline may be extended. However, it may not exceed 45 calendar days.
Within three working days of entering the territory of the Slovak Republic, a foreigner is obliged to report to the police department the place, start and length of stay. In the case of accommodation in a hotel or other accommodation facility, the accommodation provider assumes this obligation.
The foreigner must find out whether he will have to submit an invitation verified by the police department at the embassy along with the visa application.
The inviting person must apply for verification of the invitation at the relevant foreigner´s department according to their place of residence. He must fill out the prescribed request for verification of the invitation, and the purpose of the visit must be stated on the request.
All documents attached to the application must not be older than 90 days. The Foreign Police must decide on the request for verification of the invitation within 15 days from the date of its delivery. A verified invitation is valid for 90 days from the date of verification. An administrative fee of 33 euros is attached to the application. The inviting person sends the invitation verified by the immigration police to the visa applicant, who subsequently attaches it to the application for the granting of a Schengen visa.
