Blue Card is a type of temporary residence, which is issued to third country nationals for the purpose of highly qualified employment in Slovakia. The basic requirement for acquiring the Blue Card is higher professional qualification in the form of university education. Blue Card entitles you to enter, reside and work in Slovakia, to travel abroad and back.

One of the legislative requirements for granting a European Union blue card is the submission of an employment contract or a promise from the employer, in which the employment relationship for the performance of highly qualified employment is agreed for at least 1 year and the monthly salary is agreed at the amount of at least 1.5 times the average monthly salary of the employee. For this type of stay, it is required to submit a decision on the recognition of the Diploma of a third-country national.
